What is the Dance for World Peace?

The Dance for World Peace is a global call to unite all indigenous nations, traditional communities, peoples of the world, and all humanity, in a collective act of dance, prayer, and spiritual connection in the heart of life. This event is a call to strengthen brotherhood between peoples and raise a message of unity, respect, and love for Mother Earth.

This year, the dance is held as part of the commemoration of the 7 centuries of the Foundation of Mexico-Tenochtitlan, reaffirming the commitment of indigenous peoples to peace and the preservation of their traditions.
We invite you to perform your dance from your own practices, cultural expressions, customs, and traditions.
We encourage you to create your own manifestation through movement, rhythms, music as a form of expression and connection with life, and with Nature.

Register your Participation

How to participate?

This event is open and free for all individuals and communities who wish to join. Perform dances, music, prayers, offerings, and prayers in connection with the event. There are three main ways to participate:

1. From your community or ceremonial center.

• If you can travel to Mexico City, you are welcome! For other places, find and locate the nearest Venue on the Venue Map.
• We invite you to organize a dance in your locality and synchronize your participation at 11 AM your local time, by filling out the registration form.

2. In person at the Zócalo of Mexico City-Tenochtitlan.

• Come with your open heart and your traditional attire to be part of this great circle of peace.
• Bring your offering to feed the Momixtli or Tlalmanalli (Central Circle Offering) with your ceremonial elements, seeds, fruits, and flowers.
• It is important to follow the organizers' instructions to dedicate at least a few moments to the Sacred Dance with the intention of World Peace and to show respect for the ceremonial space and the previously scheduled activities.
  

3. Digital participation and live streams.

• Connect to our social media to watch the live stream.
• Share photos and videos of your participation with the hashtags: #DanceForWorldPeace #WeArePeaceWeAreMore

• Create an international network of spiritual and cultural solidarity.
• Invite humanity to recognize ancestral wisdom as a path to balance and harmony.

Suggested Program for Registered Venues and ceremonies of Dance for World Peace

 9:00 AM - Appointment for Dancers and Bearers of Ceremonial Elements. 
                   (Copalera, ocote, water, honey, seeds, conch shell trumpet, etc.)
10:00 AM - Reception of delegations and opening of the Momoxtli (ceremonial altar)

10:30 AM - Opening to the Directions of the Universe

11:00 AM - Start of the Dance for World Peace

11:30 AM - Proclamation of the Sacred Fire, passage of the Sun and Pleiades at the Zenith.

                    (It is suggested to use words and ceremonies according to your sacred tradition.)

12:00 PM - Sacred Words to the 4 Directions of the Universe at zenith moment. 

12:30 PM - Continue Ceremonial Dance

13:30 PM - Messages from the Elders of Ancestral Wisdom

2:00 PM - Closing ceremony to the Directions of the Universe and farewell.
